Handover Ceremony of Lubango Water Supply Project in Angola Successfully Held Dignitaries Gather to Anticipate New Improvements in People's Livelihood

Recently, the handover ceremony of the project for the design and construction of new and renovated water tanks in Lubango, Angola, undertaken by the Angolan Branch of our company, was successfully held at the project site in Lubango. Several dignitaries attended the ceremony, including João Baptista Borges, Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Angola, and Elsa Ramos, Director of the National Water Institute.

The holding of this handover ceremony marks that this people's livelihood project, funded by the World Bank and vigorously promoted by the Angolan government, has officially entered the full implementation stage. The client of the project is the National Water Institute under the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, and the supervision party is Dar Company from Lebanon. The core content includes the design and construction of four new water tanks (reinforced concrete structure) and the renovation of two old water tanks. The design period is 6 months, the construction period is 24 months, and the contract value is about 6 million US dollars.

After the completion of the project, the urban water supply guarantee capacity of Lubango will be significantly improved. The domestic and public water demand of more than 50,000 people will be better met, injecting a strong new impetus into the improvement of local residents' quality of life and infrastructure construction.

At the handover ceremony, the Angolan Branch of our company, the project client and the supervision party formally signed the "Project Handover Document". Angolan government officials delivered speeches, expressing their high attention to the project. In his speech, João Baptista Borges, Minister of Energy and Water Resources, emphasized that the project will not only greatly improve the water use conditions of local residents and extend the water supply service time, but also be of great significance to non-household users such as street water stations. Elsa Ramos, Director of the National Water Institute, introduced in detail the implementation location, technical characteristics and direct beneficiaries of the project from a technical perspective. The Vice Governor and local administrative representatives also agreed that the project will effectively promote regional development and improve the urban public service capacity, and the atmosphere at the scene was solemn and warm.
